Johor Bahru, 18 July 2026 – Solarlink Energy was honoured to play a key role in supporting the successful organisation of the Johor Bahru Electrical Engineering Association (JBEEA) 48th Anniversary Dinner, held at Restoran Pekin J.J., Daiman 18 Golf.

The evening brought together industry leaders, electrical contractors, suppliers, government representatives, and association members to celebrate nearly five decades of advancing Johor's electrical engineering industry.

A highlight of this year's celebration, other than there being close to 800 attendees, was the leadership of our very own Solarlink Energy CEO, Mr. Victor Chang, who served as the Organising Chairperson.

Under his coordination and alongside the dedicated organising committee, the anniversary dinner successfully fostered stronger connections within the industry while providing a platform for sparking meaningful discussions on the future of Malaysia's energy landscape.

Launch of JBEEA's New Corporate Identity

Among the memorable moments of the evening was the official unveiling of JBEEA's new logo, symbolising the association's continued transformation towards digitalisation, innovation, and future-ready growth.

According to the association, the refreshed identity represents more than just a visual change—it reflects JBEEA's commitment to embracing innovation, strengthening industry collaboration, and confidently moving into a new era of development. As Johor continues to benefit from rapid economic growth, data centre investments, and infrastructure expansion, the association aims to play an even greater role in supporting the electrical engineering sector.

Guest of Honour Highlights Renewable Energy Development

The evening's Guest of Honour, YB Andrew Chen Kah Eng, delivered an insightful keynote address focusing on Malaysia's renewable energy transition and the growing importance of sustainable electricity generation.

During his speech, YB Andrew Chen noted that while Malaysia continues to rely heavily on conventional power generation, renewable energy currently accounts for less than 10% of the nation's energy mix, highlighting significant opportunities for future growth. He emphasised that increasing the adoption of clean energy—particularly solar energy—will be essential in meeting Malaysia's long-term sustainability goals while supporting the country's expanding electricity demand.

He also pointed out that Johor, especially areas such as Iskandar Puteri and the Greater Johor Bahru region, is experiencing rapid development driven by residential projects, commercial growth, industrial expansion, and the influx of data centres. These developments naturally increase electricity consumption, making reliable energy infrastructure and renewable energy integration increasingly important.

As reported during the event, YB Andrew Chen further stressed the importance of maintaining close cooperation between energy companies, technical authorities, and industry stakeholders to ensure a stable, safe, and resilient electricity supply while accelerating Malaysia's renewable energy ambitions.

Strengthening Industry Partnerships

Beyond the formal programme, the JBEEA Anniversary Dinner provided valuable networking opportunities for members, business partners, and government representatives to strengthen relationships and explore future collaborations.

As a long-time supporter of the electrical engineering and renewable energy sectors, Solarlink Energy is proud to contribute not only through innovative solar solutions but also by actively supporting industry initiatives that encourage knowledge sharing, collaboration, and sustainable development.

Looking Ahead

Solarlink Energy extends its sincere congratulations to JBEEA on reaching its 48th anniversary milestone and thanks all committee members, sponsors, partners, and attendees for making the celebration a resounding success.

With renewable energy continuing to shape Malaysia's future, Solarlink Energy remains committed to working alongside industry associations, government agencies, and businesses to accelerate the adoption of clean energy solutions and build a more sustainable future for generations to come.
